May TBR!

Hey, guys! Today I thought I’d talk to you about the books that I want to read in the month of May. It isn’t a big list of books as I don’t really want to restrict myself too much so I’ve chosen just four books that I want to get to but I am hoping I will get a chance to read a few more this month.

The first book on the list is Uprooted by Naomi Novik. This an Adult Fiction book and I believe it is a Beauty and the Best retelling, although that being said it only has some loose aspects of the original tale.  I am actually almost finished this book, I only have about two chapters left so I definitely hope to finish this book today if I can. Once I have finished it I will be posting a non-spoiler review so stay posted for that!

The next book on my list is We All Looked up by Tommy Wallach. This is a Young Adult Sci-Fi/ Contemporary book. It follows four main characters as they find out an asteroid is going to collide with Earth. It’s all about these characters reevaluating their lives and deciding what to do with the two months they have left. I have also started this book, I am about a quarter of a way through it so far. At the moment I’m finding it a bit slow but I’m hoping the pace will pick up soon. I also plan on doing a spoiler-free review so keep an eye out for that.

The third book on my TBR pile is The Lola Quartet by Emily St John Mandel. I’m super excited to start reading this book as I loved her other novel Station Eleven, so much so that I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. The Lola Quartet is I hope to get to this really soon and I can’t wait to see how this book compares to her other one. It’s also super short only about 280 pages so it should also be a quick read!

The last book on my TBR is Replica by Lauren Oliver. Unlike the majority of people, I really enjoyed Lauren Oliver’s Delirium series and also enjoyed her two other books Vanishing Girls and Panic so I can’t wait to delve back into her writing. Replica is told from two different points of view Lyra and Gemina, you can read from either side and then switch or alternate reading chapters. This a really interesting aspect of the book and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. I don’t know too much about the plot of this book and I want to keep it that way.

I’m very excited to read all of the books this month. Let me know what books you want to read in May or if you’ve read any of the ones I’ve mentioned.

Thanks for reading!

Until next time,

Caitlin Lauren Grace x
